By using this powerful spell, the caster can break a foreign influence over the mind and body of the afflicted. The caster must touch the afflicted for the entire duration of the casting, speaking sacred words and brandishing their holy spirit. If the afflicted break contact or move away, the spell is lost.
Upon completion of the spell Exorcise, the afflicted is instantly released from any geas, charm and/or enchantment. If the afflicted is possessed (by a fiend or spirit), the entity must make a will save or be forced to exit the afflicted and unable to return forever (unless invited). Against curses (including curses from magical items), Exorcise spell allows the afflicted a chance to escape the clutches of the curse if the caster is willing to risk taking the curse onto themselves. If the caster wishes to remove a curse using this spell, he must take the curse onto himself. Once the curse is lifted from the afflicted, the caster has a single opportunity to shed the curse before it takes hold of him using a save against the item or initial spell that brought the curse. If there is no save for the initial curse, the caster must pass a DC30 will save, or become the new recipient of the curse.
The divine focus for this spell is a holy symbol. It is not consumed in the casting.
