Spell - Crypt Warden's Curse - LVL4
Crypt Warden’s Curse
Level: Cleric 4, Wiz 4 (Evil, Undead, Protection, Necromancy, Enchantment)
Components: VSM (grave dirt, bone skull or severed head)
Casting Time: full round action
Target: 60×60 area
Saving Throw: Will Negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
When the caster sprinkles the grave dirt in the air in elaborate patterns whilst muttering words of power, she imbues and area with the Crypt Warden’s Curse. Any living creature approaching the area can sense a malignant presence in the area of effect. Animals will not enter willingly unless magically compelled. Any living creature that enters the cursed area must make a Will Save or suffer a minor curse that imposes a -1 profane penalty to all future will saves. Additionally, while in the area of effect, every time a living creature destroys a living or undead creature, they must make a Will save or incur the curse’s wrath. Each failed save incurs an additional -1 penalty to will saves. In the area of effect, any living creature slain rises in 1d4 rounds as a mundane zombie that attacks living creatures. The Crypt Warden’s curse is a simple curse to escape. A remove curse disperses the malignant spell easily. Also, a creature that dies is no longer the target of the curse.
The material components for this spell, a handful of dirt dug from a grave and a skull or severed head are cannot be reused after the casting, and must remain in the area of effect.
